Last week Liam Turner, Cameron Miller, Anton Schroder and Nathan Hill were part of the 52 strong NZ Athletic team, who competed with another 550 athletes from 24 countries at the Oceania Games in Suva.
The conditions were difficult each day with around 26 degrees and a continual strong sea breeze over the track. The competition standard was high for all events but some events did have limited numbers.
Liam Turner was struck down with the flu from the Monday and was scratched from the 400m for Thursday. However he got out of bed on Friday to gain a Bronze in the Under 20 - 800m and then followed this up with another Bronze in the Under 20 - 400m Relay on Saturday.
Cameron Miller competed in the Under 18 - Decathlon and won Gold with 6017 points which was a significant Personal Best increasing his performance from 5691 points - an outstanding result.
Anton Schroder competed in the Under 20 - Javelin and recorded a 3m gain on his Personal Best recorded prior to attending the games. He continues to be the New Zealand U20 Javelin champion.
Nathan Hill competed in the Under 18 - 3000m for Silver and with a Personal Best time. He followed this up with a 5th in the 800m and then gained another Silver in the 1500m.
