On Tuesday (last week) we held our second International students & Whānau class hui at lunchtime in the Shand.
Meeting together again was something we had all looked forward to after the success of our first hui last term. It was great to meet new students and to share some of our tikanga and culture with them. After karakia we all introduced ourselves with mihimihi, and it is incredible how many different countries are represented at our school. It's also wonderful to hear people saying "kia ora" with joy and pride. A delicious kai set us up for teaching the school haka, which was quite a challenge for our new boys. However, the recent interhouse competition has paid off and the final haka sounded awesome!!
Looking forward to the next hui which the International students will host and teach us about their cultures - mauri ora!
