Young Basketballer Competes At Australian Tournament

Year 10 student Michael Ruske  was one of 10 players named in the NZ Under 16 Select team which competed in the Medibank National Junior Classic Tournament in Dandenong (Melbourne) from the 10 - 12 June. They played six games in total and finished second in their pool and 7th overall.

Competing against some of the best players in Australia for his age group proved to be a wonderful experience. Michael definitely benefited from the experience and had a solid tournament. He was later named as one of two reserves for the New Zealand "A" team.

The Medibank National Junior Classic is the most prestigious junior basketball tournament in Australia with teams from throughout Australia competing over the Queens Birthday weekend each year. Spectators are treated to some of the best players from Under 12 to Under 18.
