The school had a visit from Young Old Boy Damian Foster in conjunction with the 'What's my job? lunchtime series 2017.

After finishing school with a Bursary from OBHS in 2001, Danian went to University here in Otago and in 2004 completed a bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Accounting. In hindsight he would have also taken on more finance papers however like many students, he had no idea which specific career path he would be taking at that point.

After university, Damian was fortunate enough to start his career in finance with Forsyth Barr, who were very supportive and encouraged further development as he progressed through various roles in the company. This culminated with completion of further professional study including the NZX Exchange Diploma and Authorised Financial Adviser qualifications.

In his current role he now provides investment advice and management to a wide range of clients including individuals, companies, family and charitable trusts.

As a proud OBHS old boy Damian is grateful for the role the school played in setting him up with a sound education, and during his recent visit,  he was encouraged to see some of the exciting opportunities available to today’s group of young men such as career guidance and business studies.
