The Otago Secondary Schools Cycling Competition is about to begin.
Free to enter for juniors doing the 3 and 4 lap races. Also, this year, within Monday Night Racing, Cycling Otago are piloting a schools' competition. There are points for participation and for results. Each rider for each school will earn a set amount of points for participation. If a rider finishes in the top places for each grade they will get further points allocated to their school.
If you are interested in trying Monday Night Racing but do not own, or have access to a road bike, then the club can help. They have road bikes for a $50 bond for a month. After the month, if the rider wants to continue there will be a hire fee ($50 for the season and they must join the club).
The objective is participation and to get riders out and experiencing a small, easy to complete, circuit race.
