In a great game played in excellent conditions the Year 10B had a narrow victory over their Year 9 counterparts last Saturday.

Overall the match went 80 overs and over 400 runs scored in a very good game of cricket.

Winning the toss and batting first, the 10B's rode on the back of a magnificent 125no by Chris Webber. After a cautious start, Chris played a full range of strokes in what was a very entertaining innings.

In reply, the 9B's started in great fashion thanks to a century opening stand by Sunny Gibbard (33) and Jack Small (88).The introduction of Jake Burgess (3-15) to the bowling crease slowed down the run rate and put pressure on the batsman to score quickly. The Year 9's showed great perseverance and courage to bat out their overs falling 30 runs short.

A very good spectator turnout were treated to a fine display by two teams who will do very well in the competition this year.
