The Otago Boys' High School Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Otago Sparks' and former Otago Volts coach Nathan King has been appointed Cricket Coach at Otago Boys' High School.
Nathan will be working with all teams in the nets after school between 3 and 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays during term time.
He will also be working specifically with our Year 9 Cricket Academy students, 1st XI team and assisting some teams on match day.
However, our main goal is that Nathan is available to assist all of our cricket players. So please make yourself known to Nathan and let him know if there's anything you would like him to help you with.
Nathan is currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching through Massey University. His first teaching practicum is at Otago Boys' High School later this month.
We are extremely lucky to have someone of Nathan's calibre join us. Nathan worked for Otago Cricket for 12 years and over that period coached all the Otago representative teams. He spent two winters in Hong Kong working for the Hong Kong Cricket Club.
He has also been an assistant coach for the NZ White Ferns and attended the 2012 T20 World Cup.
Due to fundraising efforts by the club we have been able to secure top level coaches for all of our players in recent years - most recently, Otago A and Under 19 Otago Coach Adam Miles and Gloucestershire Cricket Development Officer Masoor Khan.
