At lunch time today Year 13 student Nathan Hill successfully broke the long standing 3000m record of 9.08.
The Otago Boys' High School record was slashed by 18 seconds in a time of 8.50. He was ably assisted by Angus Henderson, Jack Divers and Elliott Alloo who were worthy pace makers.
Nathan will now go on to attempt a further record at the South Island Athletics Championships in Timaru on 24 March.
Good luck!
