The 2018 Crest Clean Old Boys' Golf Tournament was a tremendous success with a record sum raised.
This is all thanks to the generous support from the likes of Grant McLauchlan the naming rights sponsor from Crest, hole sponsors, team entries and all the winning bids in the auction. These events don’t happen without a lot of generous support from folk donating auction items, prizes and their time and services on the day so a big thank you on behalf of Nick, myself and the school for your ongoing support. The final tally looks like we’ll crack $40,000 for the first time with the school receiving all monies minus the approximate $10,000 of running costs.
The funds raised are ear marked for the major hostel development that was unveiled on the day. This is an exciting time at OBHS with Richard and his team doing a fantastic job. This years winners were the team from Acumen ably skippered by Jonathan Foote who won a weekend golfing trip in Queenstown.
We have had some great feedback regarding the day and will take this on board when making the odd tweak for next years edition. We are looking to bring on a few younger hands to run the tournament so would love to hear from anyone wanting to help out going forward.
We look forward to seeing you again in 2019 and will be in touch later this year to gauge your interest.
Kind Regards
Tom West and Nick Fisher
