Last weekend, between 25 and 30 students participated in the Relay for Life at the Caledonian, raising money for the Cancer Society.
As a group, our current donations stand at $2,227 which is awesome considering the limited time many of the boys had to fund raise.
One of the goals for many individuals in the group was to reach the illusive 105 lap mark (a full marathon) and a handful achieved this, with Tom Howie in particular finishing up with well over 60km and 150 laps in the legs. Also a shout out to Year 9 Student, Dan Hayman who raised the second highest total in the group of $341 behind Tim Dippie, and both of them also managed over 100 laps. Many also opted to stay the night, and the full 24 hours to really be a part of and appreciate the atmosphere. It was great to have so many people spending so much time down at the Caledonian.
A big thanks to everyone who donated, and everyone who helped make our contribution to the event a big success. Also to Mr Willmott, whose late night contribution of pizza and drink was certainly well received by everyone. We can’t do these things without the strong support of the school community.
