Danyon Noakes - 2018 Gateway student

I am currently placed at Tansley Electrical as part of the Gateway programme.

A typical day at Tansley begins with travelling around the city doing a coffee clean which could be as simple as cleaning the coffee machine or repairing broken parts and circuits.  This can be within Dunedin and the wider Otago region.

Skills I have picked up while working at Tansley are that you always need to be prepared, focused and confident.  You need to persevere with finding a solution.  I have been working there only for a short time but I feel part of the team. Each team member brings something different to the table and makes every job an adventure.

I recommend the Gateway program to any student because it can help you decide what you want to do with your future outside of school.
