During the April school holidays Dunedin’s Diving Ōtākou hosted the Diving New Zealand Combined Autumn Championships and the Age Group Nationals diving competitions at Moana Pool, with over 70 divers from around the country competing.

Theo Smith and Rohan Leckie-Zaharic, two Year 9 Otago Boys' High School students, competed against divers from Wellington and Auckland diving clubs.

Rohan competed in the Autumn Championships Inter-Age Boys B events. He received two gold medals, winning both the platform (5 metre and 7.5 metre boards) and 1 metre events and placed 4th in the 3 metre. He achieved personal bests on the platform and 1 metre. Rohan is training for Skills Nationals to be held in Auckland in October.

Theo competed in the 1 metre, 3 metre and platform events in the Age Group B Boys Nationals, placing fifth in each event. Theo also entered the synchronised diving, with a diver from Wellington. He is one of two divers from Otago selected by Diving Ōtākou to compete at the Singapore Nationals in June/July.
