The OBHS Trio of Sean Woo, Joshua Lewis, and Boudewijn Keenan had a successful weekend in the NZCT Chamber Contest.
The boys performed very well in the Sunday afternoon session, and with a bit of feedback from the adjudicator, they headed on through to the final. The final consisted of the top eight groups from the 27 that performed throughout the weekend.
On the night of the final, the boys looked at home with the top high school performers in Dunedin. The final saw a slightly nervier performance from the trio and the result didn't quite go their way. Although they would have loved to get among the prizes, it was still a fantastic way for Year 13 students Sean and Josh to finish.
We now look forward to Boudewijn and the younger students to take up the torch passed on by the Year 13 boys, to continue the OBHS representation in the contest.
It was inspiring to see how motivated these three boys have been in preparing for the contest. They have all spent hours working individually to master their parts, and many more working together to get it right as a group. These boys should not only be commended for their skill, but for their ability to fit so many hours of rehearsal around an already busy life inside and outside the classroom.
Well done boys.
