Are You Interested in a Trip to the Volcanoes?

There are a few spaces available on the Volcanoes Tour of the North Island, from 28th September to the 3rd October.

We will be visiting:

• Rotorua and finding out about the subduction processes driving this geothermal area.
• The Mt Tarawera buried village and having a guided tour of the Waimangu volcanic valley.
• We will see lava flows and dykes on the Mt Ruapehu ski-field, looking at the damage caused by lahars and the Tangiwai Disaster site.
• Walk the silica rapids trail and look at the eruption history of Ruapehu.
• Take a trip to the summit of Rangitoto and visit some lava tubes.

The trip is primarily aimed at students studying or intending to study Earth and Space Science, but will be interesting for any students interested in Geology and Volcanoes.
