Next Thursday, when our Senior School meet with their form teachers for their Academic Coaching Day, our Junior School will be in the auditorium for their annual 'Resilience Day' as part of our school's wider well-being programme.
This year we're using our staff expertise alongside the knowledge and experiences of our students and Old Boys who have jumped at the chance to come into school and share their thoughts about what worried them as Juniors back in the day, how they dealt with their anxieties and where their lives have taken them to date.
We're fortunate to have Dr Damien Scarf (Uni of Otago, Dept of Psychology), Scott Bezett (Head Boy at OBHS, 2015) and Michael Collins (Auckland Blues, Otago rugby) happy and eager to come along and talk at their old school to our young men about building resilience, bouncing back and being better. Alongside this lineup we welcome current year 13 student and school prefect Nick Sinnott, who is very happy to share some of his experiences with our boys as well.
