Don’t make promises you don’t keep and bets you don’t pay.
Today, I learnt an expensive lesson after allegedly (I do not believe them) betting that Countdown supermarkets would never stop using plastic bags. This came about from a discussion in my Social Studies class at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately for me, Countdown supermarkets recently stopped using single use plastic bags in their stores.
9B were quick to notice the change and were even quicker to hold me to my promise!
I would like to think I learnt a valuable lesson. Probably not.
