I think all of us have really enjoyed being back at school this week. Certainly, the Otago’s Ranfurly Shield win and the good weather have been welcomed.
The shield made a brief visit to school. We would like to congratulate the team and especially Ryan Martin, a teacher, for his involvement in that result.
I also need to acknowledge Gwyn Pratley who was presented with the Sir James Fletcher Award for the most inspiring teacher. This award recognises his efforts in Business Studies and was selected from 200 teachers across the country.
An example of his work, and of the undoubted skills of our boys, was the Kauranga Cards win at the Otago Regional Young Enterprise Scheme Awards. This team consisting of Tim Dippie (CEO), Alexander Grant, Tom Howie, Reuben Wairau, Jordan Hand, Nick Washington, Taiaroa Flavell and Thomas Grant were clearly deserving of their success. There were 6 finalists that included 3 of our teams which was superb.
We look forward to more stories of success in the coming term.
