School House News

Skippers Feast and Senior Prizegiving dominated last week in School House.

We said goodbye to the Yr13’s and their parents at Skippers Feast last Wednesday. All the Yr13 leavers got presented with the customary leavers tie and certificate. Janis said a few words about all the boys and for some of them it was a very emotional evening. Nic Sinnott took out the top scholar award, well done Nic! While the Yr13 have had a farewell at both school and the hostel it is important that they stay on track for their exams. Hard work over the next few weeks brings long term benefits. At Skippers Feast we also announced next years prefects. The 2019 prefects are:

Head of School House

Jackson Toms

Deputy Head of School House

Jack Holland-Spinks

Prefects

Angus Hewett

Shuntaro Moriyama

Thomas Ryan

Charlie Marsh

Tate Drummond

Sam Henderson

Dorm Monitors

Ollie Bugden

Henry Freeman

Harry Hansen

Henry Wilson

I would like to congratulate all above boys and look forward to working with you in 2019.

Senior prizegiving on Thursday was an excellent one for School House, with the hostel winning more than its fair share of prizes. At prizegiving it was also announced that hostel boy Charlie Marsh is head of school next year. It is wonderful to have a hostel boy in this position. Well done Charlie!!

With study leave having commenced we have a limited number of seniors in the hostel, with there numbers continuing to drop throughout the next couple of weeks. It is important that the boys in the hostel and at home study hard right up till their last exam. End of year exams are also not far off for the juniors as well. When the juniors finish their exams we will have an end of year activities programme to keep them occupied for the final couple of weeks of school. I will send out more information about this closer to the time.

Have a great week and for those parents with sons already at home for the holidays, have a great summer break and we will see you in 2019.
