It was a day of warmish weather, fantastic house colours and records tumbling.
The first record fell before the school arrived at 8.45 am as George Hamilton (Park House) scorched around the track to win the U14 1500m in a time of 4min 36.1 beating the previous time of 4min 39.4 held by F.M.Clark ( 1999).
Cameron Moffitt (Park) had a very successful day, winning the U16 boys 100m, 200m, long jump,
discus and shot, smashing the school record of 12.77m held by R.J. Dryden (1974). The new distance
is 13.79m.
Equally impressive was Jacob Waide (Aspinall) who beat Cameron's U14 shotput record of 12.84m to set a new mark of 13.73m and followed this up with the long jump and 100m titles.
The title in the blue ribbon event, the senior 100m went to Michael Manson (Saxton), in a time of 11.56s followed closely by George Vare(Aspinall) and Tyler Diack (Park).
With house points on the line in all events, most other students were competing to the best of their ability. There was competitiveness, encouragement and lots of enjoyment throughout the day. Well done to everyone for the spirit shown and the effort maintained in warm but windy conditions.
In the end McIndoe House finished 1st, Park 2nd, Saxton 3rd and Aspinal 4th .
