On Wednesday 27 February 2019 the Year 13 Business Studies classes attended the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) Kick Start/Timata Day.
This year’s Lion Foundation YES launch day was hosted by Queen's High School in Dunedin. The 2019 Young Enterprise Scheme will see over 50 students from Otago Boys’ High School entered in the nationwide competition. The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) is a practical ‘hands-on’ business programme where student’s start-up their own companies, create real products/services, implement marketing plans, earn real money and keep their profits. Otago Boys' High School business Kuranga Cards won the Otago Regional Competition in 2018.
The Kick start day is the first opportunity for students to meet the national and regional coordinators and is also an opportunity to meet potential mentors and other students from around the region competing in the competition.
Otago Boys' will have 8 student businesses entered into this year’s competition. All businesses will require a mentor during the course of the year. If you would like to be a mentor to one of the teams this year please contact the Teacher in Charge Mr Gwyn Pratley via his school email address [email protected]
