A large contingent from Otago Boys' High School headed up to Oamaru for the South Island Secondary Schools' Triathlon and Duathlon Championships on Sunday.
A cool start gave way to a clear, hot day which made for fast racing.
In the individuals, Harry Summers slow 2nd transition cost him a podium, narrowly finishing 4th in the U14 Triathlon. More success though for James Howard and Jack Divers, who both placed 3rd in the U-14 Duathlon and U-19 Triathlon respectively.
It was the teams who had a better showing results-wise. In the U-19 teams, we were run down in the last couple of kilometres to finish second to John McGlashan. In the U-16 Duathlon, Luke Geddes and Matt MacDonald combined to take gold while the U-14 boys continued their season's dominance, winning their section easily.
