A Message From The Rector

One of the things that I am most proud of, about our school, is the way in which our men rise to a challenge.

This week has obviously been difficult, not only with the tragedy in Christchurch, but also the sad passing of Mr O'Brien, principal of Kavanagh College.

Our boys though, largely have got on with the job of learning, and that is what we have focused on. The discussions we have had, in assemblies and in classrooms have concentrated on the idea that we, the school community, need to lead changes in the wider community.

Again, I have been struck by the potential for real change that sits within our boys, the way in which they are more open and accepting of the idea of change, and (I guess) the role of youth has a part to play in this. As a school we have an opportunity to change within, to be more understanding and respectful, to be more hand up and not hand out.

Our boys will continue to develop in the conditions that we set for them. The expectations that we adults must have is that they will be better than before.
