This annual event was again held at Aramoana on Tuesday 19th March.
The Year 13 students departed school on the bus after the initial organisation was done at school. As they prepared for the start of the race there was the typical nervous chat going around the group. The boys prepared their cycles and running gear in the transition area and set off down the beach for their debrief on the rules for the race.
Debrief completed, Mr Matehaere started the race. A 300m open water swim followed by an 11km cycle and 5km run all around the roads of the Aramoana township. The conditions were a bit tricky with a strong breeze slowing the competitors down.
Jack Divers set an amazing pace and finished comfortably in first place in 37min 16sec, second was Charlie Marsh and third Harry Hansen.
All boys completed the assessment to the best of their ability and we had a great support crew of marshals and lifeguards on duty to support the students.
