Over Queen's Birthday weekend, brothers Lochlan and Torin Webb along with Patrick Sefo-Cloughley travelled to Nelson to participate in the South Island Olympic Weightlifting Championships.
Torin put in a gutsy effort and a fine performance, however did not secure a podium finish.
Patrick competed in the Under 96kg and was awarded 4th place after a 98kg Snatch and a 125kg Clean and Jerk.
Lochlan competed in the Under 55kg (14 Years) class and was awarded the Gold medal. He also placed 2nd overall in the Under 15 boys’ competition with a 56kg Snatch and a 69kg Clean and Jerk.
The boys are now preparing for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Weightlifting Championships which are being held in Upper Hutt at the beginning of September.
