It gives me great pleasure to announce the result of our Board of Trustee elections.
The successful candidates are; Lawrence Alloo, Anna Campbell, Allie Cunninghame, Megan Gibbons and Brendan Williams.
Interestingly, three are returning to the Board and two are new. Three have sons in Year 10, meaning that connection to the school will be there through the junior and senior school. Peter Odgers, HoD Technology was elected as the staff representative, replacing Ms Emma Moore and Angus Henderson (Year12) remains the student representative until September. We will now look to co-opt a representative from the local runanga and the hostel, as they are important elements of our community and we value their input.
My thanks goes to our out going Board members, Mr Andrew Kilsby and Ms Liane Topham-Kindley who have given tremendous service to the school for six years. Both were on the Board that appointed me Rector at the beginning of 2015, and I have been grateful for their support since then.
As a community, we can be very pleased with the quality of the twelve who put their name forward and delighted with the five who have been elected. They truly are an example of our 'hand up, not out' culture.
