World Wednesday was celebrated during lunchtime in the library this week.
It was a celebration of the diversity within our community. Students had the opportunity to show each other aspects of their cultures; our Pasifika students taught the sasa; there was Chinese calligraphy and some of our Japanese students led chopstick competitions. Arabic coffee and delicious dessert was provided by our Syrian students. Though World Wednesday was over quickly, it was a lot of fun.
During senior
assembly on Tuesday, the International student leaders Kehan Jiang and Morry
Moriyama spoke about their experiences of coming to OBHS to study. They both
spoke from the heart about their own challenges and successes and the rich
lessons they have learned during their time here.
