12/13 Outdoor Education went to Port Chalmers quarry on Wednesday to put their climbing skills to use.
The class have had tutoring over the last two terms and this was what they were building towards.
Underwhelmed by what they saw when we arrived, the boys' views quickly changed as they ascended up to 12 metres off the ground!
After finding their feet with some initial bouldering and partner drills, the group then began climbing proper. Some boys challenged themselves on the toughest climbs and many experienced abseiling down.
