The OBHS golf team travelled up to Cromwell to compete in the annual Intercollegaite final which this year was held on the challenging Cromwell golf course.
Seventeen of the best secondary school golfing teams in the country competed. Our team made up of Parker Aluesi, Joseph Hancock (capt), Seb Kyle and Willis McNaughton applied themselves from the start of the first round but were always going to find things tough competing against the golfing academy schools from the North Island.
Another problem was not having any girls in our team as this was a distinct disadvantage. After the first round we were in 11th place. We improved by one shot in the second round with Joseph shooting a solid 73 which gave him 11th place overall in the individual competition but we dropped back and finished in 12th position.
It was perfect golfing weather and everybody enjoyed the experience of the competition.
