At 9am on Saturday, the A-team consisting of Ben Burrow, Reid Sunderland and Lachlan Williams took part in the Harbour Watch Programme for the first time.
The program is focused on checking water quality in the harbour and surrounding water ways. The boys collected water samples from two sites at Port Chalmers and took them back to the University of Otago Mellor Laboratory to analyse them.
They were looking at nitrate, phosphate, algae and bacteria levels.
