Last night, in front of a packed crowd Tama o le Aisa took the stage with power and grace and performed traditional Samoan and Tongan songs and dances.
The group, of 32 performers and 6 support crew, was led by the Manaia, Simon Pupuali'i and Fuataimi, Vainiu Te'o. This was a perfect ending to what has been a full on term of rehearsals. Congratulations on an outstanding performance lads. This could not have been made possible without our student tutors Simon Pupuali'i (Year13), Vainiu Te'o (Year13), Kilifi Uele (Year 12) and Luka Mualia (Year 13). These young leaders showed amazing commitment and pride to lead our students in teaching items performed last night. Our costumes were designed by Mikaele Vaeau (Year 11) and Siosifa Pole (Year 11).
Thank you also to all the parents for their ongoing support. In particular, Neomai Muasika and Siteri Katia for sewing the uniforms. Lopa and Deu Pupuali'i for costume and food. Scott Opetaia for mentoring and supporting the group during rehearsals and Etina and Lakalaka Uele for food and letting the group use their church hall for rehearsals. This has truly been a community effort.
