This week we hosted the South Island Year 9 Cricket Tournament.
Marlborough Boys', Nelson College, Christ's College, Christchurch Boys', Shirley Boys' all travelled to Dunedin and we turned on brilliant weather!
OBHS played some great cricket over the week, winning two games (Christ's and Shirley Boys') and a close loss against Christchurch Boys'. The Christ's game resembled this years Cricket World Cup Final and was a real-biter. OBHS put on 35 for the ninth wicket to get us over the line (Alexander Batchelor 7 not out and Oliver Garden 14 not out).
Stand out performers for OBHS were Ben Turnbull, averaging 50.6 with the bat. Daniel was impressive with the ball averaging 7.3 per wicket.
There is plenty more cricket to be played over the next two weeks, with the 1st XI at Gillette Cup and the juniors at Vettori Shield.
