Hand up?

OBHS is looking for mentors for our academic students.

These boys are actively pursuing the highest academic qualifications, particularly scholarships.

They are not one dimensional, many are involved in both sport and cultural activities within the school.

What we are looking for is Dunedin based men and women who will make a commitment to:

  • Meet at least once a fortnight.
  • Communicate effectively (at least once a fortnight).
  • Attend an introductory evening in late February/early March.

Your role would be to assist our students to stay motivated. Facilitate or provide through your contacts, no cost opportunities for extension.  For example if their goal is to be a lawyer, spend time with recent law graduates, if business or medicine, links to that community.

You would be ideal if you were: interested in helping young men be exceptional, will make a commitment in helping young people excel and be prepared to listen and share your knowledge.

The school is looking for about 20 mentors. We will host a get-together, with mentors, students and their families to introduce this programme at the end of March.

If you would like to become a mentor, please contact the school at: [email protected]
