Climate Change's "Evil Twin"

For the past three days our Year 13 Earth and Space Scientists have taken part in the annual trip to the Portobello Marine Studies Centre.

Hanna and Nadjejsa took the boys through their 3.1 Investigations in the Context of Ocean Acidification, which is often referred to as Climate Change's "Evil Twin".

The boys studied various aspects and implications of Ocean Acidification, before planning and carrying out independent investigations on an aspect of the issue. For example, effects of increasing acidity on various organisms such as cockles, bryozoans and crabs, as well as physical aspects like how acidity relates to changing temperatures.

The boys were able to work with practicing marine scientists and explore a range of opportunities available to them next year and beyond.
