Otago Boys’ High School swimming team enjoyed success at the Otago Secondary Schools Swimming Championships held at Moana Pool.

Harry Summers had impressive results, placing first in every individual event he entered (4 events), and achieved 2 personal bests. Daniel Gilbert placed 1st in 3 events and finished on the podium for 2 other events. Elliott Alloo came out of retirement after not touching the water in 18 mohths and managed to place 2nd in the only event he entered, the 50m freestyle.

The A relay team made it a close race with John McGlashan College, and narrowly missed out on the top spot. Both A and B OBHS relay teams picked up 2nd and 3rd respectively in both the IM relay and Freestyle relay.

Young lads including Ryan Dey, Javara Clark, Jude Kohlhase, Tim Orchiston, Jackson Wallace, and Eddie Wright all snapped up a podium to round off the day.

With an abundance of youth in the swimming team the future of Otago Boys’ High swimming is looking very promising.
