Otago Boys' High School has places for Year 11 and Year 12 students on the Untouched World Water Wise programme from December 10 - 16 2020.
The Waterwise leadership experience is a joint venture between Untouched WorldTM Charitable Trust, UNESCO (Paris), Otago Polytechnic, Otago Community Trust, Contact Energy, Te Rūnunga o Ngāi Tahu and supported by Otago Regional Council.
The programme is a seven day intensive week spent in Central Otago and its surrounding environment. This field trip is designed to provide practical leadership experience for selected secondary school youth, tertiary youth and teachers in Otago. Waterwise also provides an opportunity to draw together water issues, leadership education, youth empowerment, cultural practice and sustainable practice.
The programme addresses a number of the Education for Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Action Programme initiative established by UNESCO (Paris). More information can be found here https://untouchedworldfoundation.com/waterwise-otago
While the cost is $1000, the school places are subsidised and involve only a $50 administration fee for the UWFoundation. Year 11 and Year 12 students interested in leadership in sustainability should consider applying.
The school has been offered two places, and in order to apply for a school subsidised entry email Ms Casey, TiC Biology, [email protected]
