Matthew gets Gold!

Congratulations to Matthew Sims who completed his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.

Matthew had been hoping to have completed the requirements earlier in the year. Due to Covid postponing the recent trip to Lake Monowai, this was delayed.

As part of the Duke of Edinburgh programme, Matthew has undertaken voluntary roles at the SPCA, and more recently the Mosgiel Brass Band. Last Christmas holidays he also spent a week as a volunteer camp leader at an Edmund Rice camp for underprivileged children. He enjoyed this immensely and has volunteered for another camp in January 2021.

In the not too distant future, Matthew will receive an invitation to attend a function where he will be presented with his award by the Governor General.

Well done Matthew, this is an outstanding achievement.
