Director of Boarding

Mr Matthew Markham, our Director of Boarding has tendered his resignation.

Matthew was selected, from an excellent group of candidates in 2017 to join School House.

Under his leadership the systems and staffing have been improved, with the academic attainment of School House pupils a key focus. With the junior and senior boarding programmes established this year, School House residents have an excellent opportunity to grow as young men. Facilities such as the McCaw room, kitchen and housemaster improvements are all things he can reflect well on.

In Matthew's words, "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the role."

The role of Director of Boarding is a challenging one, managing a significant budget, staff, parents and students and I personally thank him for the commitment to the Hostel, often over his own family. I am pleased that he will begin a full time teaching role in the school.

I know that we also owe a debt to Kirsty, Nathan and Sam; who together embraced the role as much as he did.

The school is now beginning the nationwide search for his replacement. I look forward to the new challenges ahead of us all. My thanks for your continued commitment to our Hostel.

Regards

Richard Hall
