Junior Cricket v Timaru Boys'

In cold overcast conditions we won the toss and elected to bat on an artificial wicket with a quick outfield.

We made a solid enough start and at drinks were 60-3 with Matt Parker still at the crease. Matt continued to anchor the innings, eventually being dismissed by an outstanding caught and bowled for a well made 50. Some lusty hitting by Oak Chisholm (20), Sage Paterson (24) and Charlie Ottrey (26) in the last few overs saw us post a very competitive 191 off our 40 overs.

In reply Timaru got off to an excellent start, with our bowling while tidy, lacking any real penetration. At drinks though, we were still very much in the game due to the some tight bowling from Tom Miller and Max Sutherland. Eventfully though Timaru chased down our total with an over to spare.

While we were outplayed on the day the boys never stopped trying and should be proud of their efforts against a talented Timaru Boys' side.
