On Thursday and Friday last week, Ngā Manu Kōrero was hosted in the Dunedin Town Hall where numerous different schools came to present a speech.
Year 11 student Nathaniel Williams represented Otago Boys’ High School and Wairua Pūhou with the roopu supporting.
On Thursday, the task was impromptu speeches where Nathaniel and all the other tauira had 5 minutes to come up with a speech and present it on the spot. On Friday, we all gathered again to watch the prepared speeches which had to be 6 minutes long. Nathaniel did extremely well in this section. He represented our kura competently.
In response to Nathaniel's speech, Wairua Pūhou sung a waiata tautoko for him and Otago Girls’ High School students Gabriel Liddell and Mariah Taungapeau.
