Otago Provincial Clay Target Competition

On Sunday the 8th of August, Henry and Nic Sim both participated in the second day of the Otago Provincial Clay Target Competition held at the Alexandra Clay Target Cub.

This was a two day shoot, with seven different shooting disciplines to compete in. There were 15 squads competing across both days comprising of 75 shooters. Competitors travelled from Otago, Southland, Canterbury and even the North Island. 

Both boys competed in the Triple, Points Score and Single Barrel events. For Points Score, Henry secured 74/75 which put him into a shoot off in the A grade for first or second place.

Results:

Henry gained second in A Grade which is outstanding for a school student who is shooting against adults that have been shooting for 20 + years.

Nic achieved third in A Grade beside Henry in the Points Score with 72/75.

Henry also secured first junior in Points Score and first junior in Single Barrel with a score 22/25.

The Sim brothers, together with our Intercollegiate shooters will be on the road again this Sunday to shoot in the Balfour Intercollegiate Competition.
