Six Year 13 hostel boys participating in the Young Enterprise Scheme have established a business which produces and sells dog treats made from 100% dehydrated wild rabbit, aiming to make use of the pests in an innovative and productive way!
They call it Maimoa, which translates in English to mean “pet” or “to cherish/care for.”
All being from rural backgrounds, they wanted to do something which would be beneficial to the sector - contributing to eliminating pests. With there being a lack of pet food on the market, they set out to kill two birds with one stone, forming their business vision to “Solve the pet problem, fix the pest problem.”
To find out more, or if you are interested in supporting Maimoa and would like to pre-order a few bags of treats, head online to their website, and follow their social media!
