Our Gateway students have had plenty of time to pitch in an use their skills and experiences at home over the last three weeks. For some students it was time to share their skills with family.
Alex McLachlan built a sidewalk for the calf yards and built a ramp on the side of the load out race. He obviously enjoyed driving this beast of a tractor, useful for putting in posts as part of his fencing project during lockdown.
Khaan Phillips' family benefited from him carefully repainting the bathroom ceiling where he did a professional job.
George Scurr will have done a far bit of feeding out over lockdown. As you will see in his photo it was taken earlier in the year as there is significantly more snow on the hills and mountains up the Cardrona Valley in August.
Nicholas Nind put his electrical skills to task by upcycling materials in his father's workshop to design and make a splendid lamp.
Our Gateway students look forward to returning where possible to their host employer placements again next Friday.
In week 9, we will make available an application form online for students and their whanau who are interested in being considered to be part of The Gateway Experience in 2022. There will be an opportunity for students to come and hear about Gateway from current students and staff during week 9.
