This year, Otago Boys’ Adventure Racing has teamed up with Columba College to compete in a variety of events throughout the year.
In May, the team became the first ever Dunedin team to qualify for the prestigious Hillary Challenge Finals in the 21-year history of the event through performances at the South Island qualifying event. The Finals is a brutal week-long race in the Tongariro National Park this coming October and will see the team pitted amongst the 12 best adventure racing teams in the country in a race which will involve climbing, running, kayaking, rogaining and mountain biking to name just a few!
Amongst all the training already being completed, the team has also needed to carry out a lot of fundraising. As part of this, a group of generous sponsors have enabled us to assemble a fantastic raffle. To help us get to Tongariro, we’d love some support through a purchase of a ticket from which all proceeds go directly towards the team. Tickets are $3 each or two can be bought for $5. There are some fantastic prizes on offer including an Otago Peninsula package and a $250 voucher thanks to our good friends at Shoe Clinic.
If you would like to purchase a ticket, please email [email protected] with your name and how many tickets you would like to purchase – our team will do the rest!
Thanks in advance for your kind support of the team. We are very fortunate to have such a special school community!
