This week has seen us rise to the challenges of the governments Public Health Order.
We are required to collect the vaccination information for staff, volunteers, contractors and students. This is a huge undertaking. For us it will be close to 1000 people and we are by no means a big organisation.
I want to thank those members of our community who have been supportive and have responded accordingly to us. This is something we are trying our best to manage professionally, but we value any feedback. Please understand though, we are doing what we are required to do.
It has been great to have all the boys back in school this week. The senior exams, which have been completed, will be returned over the next week. It is crucial that the boys take the time to reflect on their progress and their feedback. As a parent, a good idea is to ask them about the number of credits they have and how, if these exams were the 'real' thing, their total would be looking now.
Be specific as to not only the total, but the number required for a Merit or Excellence endorsement, their centurion status and for Year 13's University Entrance. If you need confirmation, you can look it up on the Parent Portal.
It was disappointing for everyone that the national tournaments scheduled for this term were cancelled. A lot of time and energy had already gone into them. I want to thank those whanau who have supported this decision from School Sport New Zealand.
There will be a number of emails coming out over the next few weeks as we get prepared for the end of year, start of 2022 and just generally adapting to the new challenges we seem to be facing every day. We are by no means finished with 2021!
