Last week the Year 12 Outdoor Education classes have been completing a comprehensive first aid course.
The boys have had the opportunity to learn and practice skills that may be required as a first responder to an incident. Some of these skills include how to perform CPR and how to respond to choking, bleeding, broken bones, allergic reactions and poisoning.
These essential skills are a great asset as we begin surfing next week and participate in future outdoor activities. They may even be useful in a job, playing sports or out in the community.
This has been a great way to gain NCEA credits while also building real skills that could save lives!
