School community COVID update

As we face the reality that Covid-19 is in our community, it is important that you understand how the school will deal with this moving forward. The health and safety of our whole community is our number one concern.

When we are notified of a positive case in our school community, we have in place a robust contact tracing system in line with the guidance from the Ministries of Education and Health. Identified close contacts will be texted and emailed, and if on site removed from class as quickly as possible. Parents or caregivers will be contacted and asked to collect their son. The email will state the possible exposure date which is known as day 0. The email contains full information from the Ministry of Health of how to proceed and the requirements for testing and return to school. Whilst isolating, all students should be able to access their work via their google classroom. Communication with their teachers is best done through email.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for the calm and proactive way they have been handling situations so far. Please contact the school office or email [email protected] if your son tests positive or if he is a close contact from another source.

Please be assured that we are working hard to keep the boys safe by taking sensible and practical precautions at school. Be aware that the main source of close contacts will likely be from students exercising and playing close contact sports together. Maintaining the current high compliance of mask use in class should minimise the close contacts from the classroom settings. These safety measures ensure that classrooms are not the source of close contacts. So please remind the boys in the morning to have a mask in their pockets. This is really important.
