Year 12 English - Short stories

The challenge was to write a short story of no more than 100 words.

It had to include:

· a broken computer/laptop/tablet.
· someone who claims to be the friend of an important figure (e.g. the Queen, Jacinda Ardern, Vladimir Putin …).
· A newspaper with something missing or cut out.
· A building under construction.
· A dog.
· At least one line of dialogue.

Donald Trump threw his computer against the wall in a fit of rage. His pit bull cowered in the corner as keys were sent flying. The votes were in and Trump had lost. His friend Putin had failed to rig the election.

He looked out his window, past the caged Mexican children to his beautiful wall still under construction. The feeling of defeat washed over him. He cast his eyes over to his pinboard. A newspaper hung there, the front line celebrating his victory in 2016.

Trump put his hands in his head and sobbed, his reign was finally over.
