Year 12 English - short stories

By Ollie Oberlin Brown | Posted: Thursday March 17, 2022

The challenge was to write a short story of no more than 100 words.

It had to include:

· a broken computer/laptop/tablet.
· someone who claims to be the friend of an important figure (e.g. the Queen, Jacinda Ardern, Vladimir Putin …).
· A newspaper with something missing or cut out.
· A building under construction.
· A dog.
· At least one line of dialogue.

The most famous dogs are without a doubt the Queen's corgis, Bob II and Fredric IV. Yesterday, to my complete surprise my mate Boris emailed me with some great news.

“My good friend Lizzy gave me this newspaper yesterday, and guess what! Your advert has been cut out.”

“No f*** way!” I replied on my smashed computer.

“Yeah I'm not kidding, bro. I heard her talking about how great it sounded.” “Why would the queen ever want her dogs to come to my doggy bootcamp?” “Yeah, I thought that too, and isn't your building still under construction?”
