Cross country season underway

Tuesday morning dawned bright and calm.

Perfect weather for the first race of the Cross Country season, or so we thought, but this was going to prove to be too good to be true. The race took place at Logan Park with the start time of 1:00pm and just as the Junior's race commenced it clouded over and literally "poured on our parade".

The 12 boys were not daunted at all. This is what cross country is all about - rain, mud and cool conditions. Our junior boys did us proud coming 1st (Ruie Hyslop), 2nd (Angus Oberlin-Brown) and 3rd (Hugo Barsby).

Time for the seniors to step up to the mark. Not to be outdone by their younger brothers they took 1st (Jake Owens) and 2nd (Dan Hayman) places. 

The season bodes well as we welcome back one of our top runners (Matthew Bolter) into the team event next week.
