Having already been postponed, the Year 13 Outdoor Education Silver Peaks tramp was still heavily affected by sickness and injuries.
In the end it was a mere 19 students who took to the trail.
The previously mild autumnal weather also took a turn for the worse, but we were fortunately provided a window to complete the tramp without too much discomfort.
Having spent considerable time planning, and having completed a preparatory one-day tramp, this was still a challenging trip for many. Fortunately, the students were able to trust in their strategies around food, equipment and physical preparation and with the support of their group members achieved their collective goal of planning and completing a successful multi-day tramp.
On their return they will now reflect on their planning successes and short-comings and put this into a report.
A big thank you to Richard Roe and student teacher, Luke Russell, for their support on the trip.
